THE LAUNCH of a pan-European lobby to promote an offshore ‘supergrid’ powered by wind turbines has raised the prospect of new shipping opportunities.
Ten European energy companies formed the Friends of the Supergrid this week, IHS Global Insight reported today. It would promote building a grid in the North Sea to transmit offshore wind power to northwestern Europe.
